Janice Bannister – Owner of Laughter Zone 101 – Lead Teacher

Janice is a stand-up comic, motivational speaker, writer, show producer and the author of zero books. She has co-written two interactive plays.

She has been the lead instructor at Laughter Zone 101 since 2003. She developed the stand-up comedy programs for Douglas College, and Capilano University, where she also developed the Kids in Comedy summer camp program. She also taught Therapeutic Laughter for Langara College and taught in their stand-up comedy classes. She has taught the Stand Up for Mental Health and the Comedy Courage stand up comedy classes. Currently she also teaches a stand-up comedy program and an Arts for Brain Fitness program for SFU Continuing Studies.

Janice has private coaching sessions for comics and speakers working on Ted Talks, conference presentations, or comedy acts for contests and bigger stages.

She is the winner of BC’s Funniest Female (2003) BC’s Funniest Almost New Female (Second place 2004) Winner of Comics with a Day Job (2003). She has performed for Vancouver International Comedy Festival, The Women’s Network She Laughs, I am Woman Hear me Laff (2014 & 2018) The Ha Ha Sisterhood (Seattle), and many other comedy gigs.

She has been featured on CBC TV & radio, Vancouver Sun Business BC (2014 Real Life draws a Real Laugh).

Nic Enright-Morin is the owner and creator of ‘Been Around the Word’ a one-stop-word-shop that helps people with all their writing needs.

A freelance writer and editor with over twenty-five years experience, Nic has written for newspapers, magazines, blogs and websites all over the world. Nic is also a stand-up comedian, who teaches comedy and creative writing workshops all over the Lower Mainland.

Along with her comedy partner, Alison Oglivie she is also the co-founder of the ‘Show Me the Funny’ workshops, which help businesses of all sizes learn how storytelling and improv can enhance their business.
